Indonesia 2019
The world’s best “wow” diving destination.
Indonesia is in the centre of and bordering the amazing “Coral Triangle”. Here the waters hold the highest diversity of iridescent corals, fish, crustaceans, molluscs and marine plant species in the world. North Sulawesi Island, and in particular – Manado, is your gateway to exploring this underwater paradise.
The best way to get experience Indonesia is to combine the best of both worlds – starting off at the beautiful 4 Star Mecure Manado Tateli Beach Resort and exploring the wonderful sites of the Bunaken Marine Park. The diving is spectacular, gliding past deep vertical walls covered in never ending hard and soft corals, swarming in schools and schools and schools of all types of tropical fish. The currents can be swift in places and will allow you to fly like a bird. There is also a very good wreck dive, and some amazing critter and reef diving closer to the resort itself. Diving is handled by Indonesia’s top dive company – Eco Divers.
The setting is simply idyllic with tropical gardens, expansive private beach, marina and just 10 km from Manado, set in over 22 hectares of land.
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this beachfront resort sits on level ground with many facilities to ensure a memorable holiday including a large swimming pool, spa, gym, tennis court and, of course, dive centre. From the welcoming lounge you can look out to the garden, the pool and Manado Tua Island, making this a perfect choice for divers, non-divers, families and friends and it really is the best value for money in the Manado and Bunaken area
You can choose from a selection of rooms from Superior to Suites and all are spacious and offer luxury and comfort. Each has a wide bed, large bathroom and terrace, air-con, mini bar, tea and coffee facilities, hot water, IDD phone, free WiFi, hairdryer, safe and toiletries. Electrical sockets carry 220V and require double pin plugs.
A comfortable breakfast area will welcome you in the morning with a wide choice of sweet and salty, local and international food to start your day at the best.
The Pantai Lounge Bar & Restaurant serves delicious International and Asian cuisine and selected wines are available.
The Pool Bar is the perfect place to refresh yourself at the pool side.
Most of the reefs of the Bunaken National Marine Park are rich and unspoilt, with pristine and abundant soft coral and fish life in huge concentration.
Diving in and around Bunaken is mostly wall diving and drift diving, but also includes several beautiful coral slopes. We dive more than 50 different dive sites, most of them within the park. The variety of both fish and soft coral is outstanding, making this area one of the top places in the world with regards to biodiversity.
Bunaken National Park yields excellent visibility and is a favourite location for some excellent drift dives where you can watch schools of coral fish in all shapes and sizes and colours, as you glide by the huge sea fans and impressive sponges. Schools of barracudas and jacks, green sea turtles and reef sharks, sea snakes and napoleon wrasses are among the resident inhabitants of these steep coral walls fringing the Islands. Diving in and around Bunaken is mostly, but not only, wall diving and drift diving, it includes several beautiful coral slopes.
Manado Tua, the fascinating cone-shaped volcanic island, features steep slopes on land covered with coconut palms and even steeper vertical drop-offs under water. Siladen Islands offers huge fields of hard coral in addition to their classic wall dives. With visibility around 25m and water temperature 28-30 C, this is a world-favourite destination for underwater photographers and naturalists alike.
Only 4 divers to 1 dive guide, so your clients will get special and personalised treatment!
And just when you thought you are in diving heaven!
Then you are moved to undoubtedly the world’s best “critter diving” destination in the Lembeh Straits, on the north eastern tip of Sulawesi Island. Here you will dive with critters that will astound everyone – Pygmy Seahorse, Mimic Octopus, Blue Ringed Octopus, Hairy Frogfish, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Ornate Ghost Pipefish and many more amazing creatures. You will stay and be spoilt at the “Eco Divers Resort Lembeh”, voted the best boutique resort in Lembeh by “Trip Advisor”.
